Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a binding agreement between you ("User", "you") and the wathafak team ("we", "us", "our") and govern your access to and use of the wathafak website, applications, and related services (collectively, the "Service"). By creating an account, accessing, or otherwise using the Service, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you must not use the Service. For questions, contact legal@wathafak.com.
These are the rules for using wathafak. By signing up or using the product, you accept them. Plain English on the right, formal stuff on the left. If something here doesn't sit right with you, don't use the Service.
1. Acceptance and eligibility
You must be at least sixteen (16) years of age to use the Service. By accessing the Service you represent that you meet this age requirement and that you have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms in your jurisdiction. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you are authorised to bind that organisation, and references to "you" in these Terms apply to both you personally and the organisation.
You need to be at least 16 to use wathafak. If you're signing up for a company, you need to have permission to do that.
2. The Service
The Service helps Users tailor curriculum vitae ("CV") documents to specific job descriptions, generate cover letters, and track job applications. The Service uses third-party large language model providers (the "AI Sub-processors", currently Anthropic, OpenAI, and OpenRouter) to generate output based on content you provide. Features, models, and limits may change without notice. The Service is provided on an "as is" basis and we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability.
wathafak tailors your CV, writes cover letters, and tracks applications using AI. We may add, change, or remove features over time. Sometimes things break — we try to fix them quickly but can't promise 100% uptime.
3. Account and security
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorised access at security@wathafak.com. You must provide accurate information at registration and keep it current. We may suspend or terminate accounts that we reasonably believe have been compromised, are being used in violation of these Terms, or are inactive for an extended period.
Keep your password safe. Anything done with your account is on you. If someone breaks in, tell us right away. Use real, current info when you sign up.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to: (a) upload content you do not have the right to use, including CVs of other persons without their consent; (b) submit content that is unlawful, defamatory, infringing, or contains malware; (c) use the Service to generate content that is misleading, fraudulent, harassing, or that misrepresents your qualifications or identity; (d) attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, or circumvent rate limits or technical restrictions of the Service; (e) probe, attack, or interfere with the Service or its underlying infrastructure; (f) resell, redistribute, or expose the Service to third parties without our written permission; (g) use the Service to train competing AI systems.
Don't upload other people's CVs without permission. Don't lie on a CV we generate. Don't try to break, scrape, or resell wathafak. Don't use it to train another AI.
5. Your content
You retain all ownership rights in the CV content, job descriptions, notes, and other materials you submit ("User Content"). You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, transmit, process, and display the User Content solely as necessary to provide the Service to you, including transmission to AI Sub-processors as described in our Privacy Policy. This licence terminates when you delete the User Content or your account, subject to the retention provisions of the Privacy Policy.
Your CV stays yours. We only use it to run the Service for you — tailor a version, send it to the AI providers we use, save it in your account. Once you delete it, the licence ends.
6. AI-generated output
Output generated by AI Sub-processors based on your input ("Output") is provided to you for your own use. To the extent we have rights in the Output, we assign such rights to you. You are solely responsible for reviewing the Output before using it externally; AI models can generate inaccurate, biased, or fabricated content. We make no warranty that the Output is accurate, suitable for a particular role, or free of errors. Submitting AI-generated content as your own to employers may breach the rules of those employers — that risk is yours to manage.
What the AI generates is yours to use. But it can be wrong, biased, or made up — read it before you send it. Some employers don't allow AI-generated material; check before submitting.
7. Our intellectual property
The Service, including its software, design, branding, and documentation, is owned by the wathafak team and its licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. We grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive, revocable licence to access and use the Service for its intended purpose, subject to these Terms. No other rights are granted by implication or otherwise.
The wathafak product itself — the code, the design, the name — belongs to us. You're allowed to use the Service, but not to copy or rebrand it.
8. Plans, billing, and cancellation
Certain features may be offered on a paid basis. Pricing, included quotas, and the billing cycle are presented at the point of purchase. Fees are billed in advance and are non-refundable except where required by applicable consumer law (including, where applicable, the EU Consumer Rights Directive right of withdrawal within fourteen (14) days, which you waive once you begin using a paid feature). You may cancel a paid plan at any time from your account settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Failure to pay may result in suspension of paid features.
Paid plans are billed up-front and aren't refundable except where the law says they must be. You can cancel any time and you'll keep access until the end of the period you already paid for.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, STATUTORY, OR OTHERWISE, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, OR THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE OUTPUT WILL RESULT IN ANY EMPLOYMENT OUTCOME. NOTHING IN THESE TERMS EXCLUDES OR LIMITS WARRANTIES THAT CANNOT BE EXCLUDED UNDER APPLICABLE LAW.
We don't promise wathafak will land you a job, work without bugs, or always be online. We give it our best, but legally there's no guarantee. Where the law gives you a guarantee we can't take away, that still applies.
10. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL THE WATHAFAK TEAM BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOST PROFITS, LOST OPPORTUNITIES, LOST EMPLOYMENT, OR LOST DATA, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (i) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, OR (ii) ONE HUNDRED EURO (€100). NOTHING IN THIS SECTION EXCLUDES LIABILITY FOR DEATH, PERSONAL INJURY CAUSED BY NEGLIGENCE, FRAUD, OR ANY OTHER LIABILITY THAT CANNOT BE LIMITED UNDER APPLICABLE LAW.
If something goes wrong, we're not on the hook for indirect losses like missed jobs or lost data. The most we'd ever owe you is what you paid us in the last 12 months, or €100 — whichever is bigger. The law overrides this if it has to (fraud, gross negligence, etc.).
11. Suspension and termination
You may terminate your account at any time from settings or by emailing legal@wathafak.com. We may suspend or terminate your access immediately, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have breached these Terms, if your use poses a security or legal risk, or if we are required to do so by law. Upon termination your right to use the Service ceases. The provisions that by their nature should survive termination (including ownership, disclaimers, limitations of liability, indemnification, and governing law) will survive.
You can close your account whenever. We can also close yours if you break these rules or put us at risk. Some bits of these Terms (like the liability cap) keep applying even after you leave.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated in-app and to the email associated with your account at least fourteen (14) days before they take effect. Non-material changes (typographical fixes, clarifications) take effect immediately and are reflected by the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree, you must stop using the Service before the effective date.
We may change these Terms. We give 14 days' notice for anything meaningful, and small fixes go in immediately. The "Last updated" date at the top is always current. Keep using the Service after a change means you accept it.
13. Governing law and contact
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable to the jurisdiction in which the wathafak team is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections available to you in your country of residence. Disputes will be brought before the competent courts of that jurisdiction, except where mandatory law provides you the right to bring proceedings before a court closer to home.
